Before the emails start pouring in, no I wasn’t abducted by aliens or sold into a circus, the reason I haven’t posted in ages is because for the past few months I have been a busy worker bee designing awesome custom invitations at a company known as Lallie Inc.  Check out their website to see the kind of amazing invitations and stationery that Lallie produces.

Unfortunately the company downsized and the majority of production positions were relocated to the North East. So now in between searching for a new Graphic Design job, I will hopefully be able to post new designs, artistic inspirations and nonsensical ramblings for my loyal readers (yes, all two of you.)

Although my time with Lallie was limited I was able to gain many new design skills as well as build great friendships with a wonderful group of designers. Before the news of the company's downsizing the art department was excitedly working on new invitation designs for the 2013 Parties and Holidays catalog. The type of work we created included party invitations for holidays such as Valentine’s Day, Halloween, Mardi gras as well as generic birthdays and anniversaries.

The following pictures are some of my “In Progress” designs for the 2013 catalog. Even though these cards may never get professionally printed or put into catalogs, the process of inventing party concepts, writing copy, creating custom illustrations and implementing them into new design layouts helped me grow as a designer and artist. I also now have a passion for the niche market of stationery design and hope to one day start selling my own designs.
