Here are a few random designs I have been working on to improve my skills and get the creativity flowing.
All have been done in Photoshop and all are works in progress.

Consignment Concept Designs

I've been a busy gal lately and am now attempting to start building up my online portfolio. Yesterday I got inspired by a few designs and decided to create a mock business. Twice Around the Park is my fictitious consignment shop for children. I have been playing around with design ideas for store signs, business cards, web banners etc. I wanted a vintage ephemera feel with some fun typography and bright colors. Here are some of the designs I came up with.

Book Cover Designs

What's the first thing that grabs your attention when you walk into a book store or browse the shelves at the local library? An exciting book title may peak your interest, but a well designed book jacket can lure you in and capture your imagination in a matter of seconds. That's why I really enjoy designing book jackets.  Here are some examples of covers I drafted when I worked with the only completely student run publishing house in America, Apprentice House. 

The Joys of Childhood- Photography

I really enjoy taking photographs and especially love when I get to work with kids, they bring such energy and joy to the images.  Some of these have been edited with special photo filters or frames, others have been left unedited. 

Pen and Ink Designs

The following drawings are examples of my more detailed work with pen. This is a style I really favor.

The following are some examples of my illustration style. I not only work in digital photo manipulation, but I do more traditional painting, ink, pastel and charcoal illustrations as well.

Creative Beginnings

This sort of a practice post. I will be writing a more detailed post as the creative inspiration strikes. For now please enjoy some pretty pictures. These are digital collages done with free stock art found mainly on morguefile, some photos have been scanned in and some are original photographs or drawings of mine.
